It is incredibly difficult to put all of the pieces together so that a big-budget Hollywood movie will get a green light. – Thanks! I have been approached so many times by producers and other Hollywood people, but so far it has never gone forward. – Did you have a proposition for movie adaptation of Wired, which in my opinion has all the qualities to become big hit? – It was one of the most incredible days of my life. – What was your initial reaction when you saw Wired in NY Times bestselling list? You can now publish a book the day after you’ve finished it, which is great. But once I have an idea, it usually takes me about 3 or 4 months to write the book. – For me, coming up with an idea for a plot is the hard part. – How much time did you need to finish the story and to publish it? They aren’t really based on people I know, but rather people I would like to know. – Nathan is a brilliant physicist, and his wife-to-be, Jenna, is brilliant in her own right. – Tell us something more about your main characters Nathan and Jenna? Are they close to someone from your real life? It was very difficult, and I spent many hours writing diagrams and pulling out my hair to make the story as logically consistent as possible. – Trying to get the logic of time travel as correct as I could. – What was the biggest challenge during the write up process? But as I was thinking about this, a unique idea entered my brain, and I knew I had to write it. – I love time travel stories, but every possibility has been done to death. I can’t say more without giving important plot points away. My novel describes the huge and astonishing implications of going back in time just a fraction of a second. Time travel is a theme that has been used many thousands of times over more than a hundred years, but I believe I have found a unique take on this subject. – It involves a very unique take on time travel. – Douglas, what is your book Split Second about?
